National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused the presidency of undue interference in the Judiciary, Legislature and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, which it said was unacceptable. The PDP accused the presidency of using the Department of State Service, DSS to influence election petition tribunal and court rulings in favour of the APC.

The Federal Government has instituted a four-count criminal charge against the erstwhile Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Elder Godsday Peter Orubebe, before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, sitting in Abuja. The Justice Danladi Umar-led tribunal has fixed November 9 to take the plea of the former Minister who is facing charges bordering on false declaration of assets and his alleged acceptance of bribe to the tune of about N70million.

Three female suicide bombers on Friday, attacked the Umarari Bayan Waya area of Mulai Village in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), leaving at least seven people feared killed and 17 others injured. The blast was reported to have occurred around a few minutes past 5am when Muslim faithful were getting ready for the early morning prayer, reports Channels TV.

Omar Pettigen reportedly told police he murdered his mum, Nailah Pettigen, after an argument and sliced open her chest before removing her heart with his bare hands. Omar, 31, was arrested five days after he murdered his own mother in cold blood. The incident happened in Fremont, California. He confessed that he masturbated after mutilating the body of his mother.

Hameed Ali (rtd), has ordered the immediate removal of rice from import restriction list and the re-introduction of import duty payment at land borders. The public relations officer of Customs, Mr Wale Adeniyi, who made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja, said that the restriction was only applied at land border stations before now, adding that the customs boss had lifted restriction on rice at border stations.
